Objectives

Specific Objectives
To establish the first specialized centre dedicated solely to the rehabilitation of children with birth asphyxia-related disabilities.
To provide early intervention services including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and special needs education.
To train and empower parents and caregivers through workshops and counselling programs.
To advocate for better neonatal care in hospitals and public health awareness regarding
birth asphyxia.
To collaborate with local and international medical institutions for expertise and
sustainability.
Project Justification
- Tanzania lacks dedicated centres and specialized services for infants affected by birth asphyxia.
- Early intervention drastically improves outcomes, but is currently unavailable to most affected families.
- There is a severe shortage of paediatric occupational therapists and speech-language therapists in the country.
- Families are left unsupported, and children suffer preventable disabilities due to lack of access to therapy and care.
- The project will fill a critical gap in Tanzania’s child health services, improving lives and creating long-term social impact.
